LAB TESTED & PESTICIDE-FREE KRATOM
At Jaya, customer wellbeing and transparency are our priorities.
Since day one we have only sourced kratom from locations we have visited and know to be pesticide-free. Now, instead of just taking our word for it, every new batch we release will be fully tested for over 60 pesticides commonly used in kratom production. The lab report will be publicly available via the individual batch’s lab report page (like this)
Jaya’s mission is to source the highest-quality possible, small-batch, pesticide-free kratom, which you can always count on to be fresh and potent. We’ve achieved this by spending months studying kratom cultivation throughout Southeast Asia and developing close relationships with the best sources we’ve found.
Throughout our travels, we saw that pesticide use on kratom is a common practice. Despite most growers claiming to never use pesticides, we have come across countless pesticide packaging littered around the kratom fields and have witnessed spraying in fields. Based on what we’ve witnessed, we believe the vast majority of the kratom entering the United States is produced using pesticides.
The use of pesticides on agriculture products has been linked to numerous environmental and serious health issues. According to the European Environmental Agency, “The evidence shows that pesticides are one of the primary drivers of declines in populations of insects, birds and many other groups of species. Moreover, pesticide exposure can cause several chronic diseases in humans…Chronic diseases linked to exposure to chemical pesticides range from various types of cancers to neurological disorders, developmental delays in children and effects on reproductive capacity and infertility.”
Adding to the risk of pesticide exposure is the unknown and potentially excessive quantities used by untrained farmers. The vast majority of kratom growers in South East Asia do not have formal agricultural training so there is no guarantee that the types and levels of pesticides being applied are crop appropriate or safe. Furthermore, many pesticides are only licensed for use on the outside of fruit/veg peels and are not intended for consumption, for example, the exterior of oranges or bananas. Other types of pesticides are only safe to use when the plants are young, not close to harvest time. As the kratom industry is made up of thousands of small growers there is no oversight to make sure the appropriate dose, type, or application method is used.
In order to give our customers peace of mind we have decided to 3rd party lab test every batch for the 62 most commonly used pesticides in the industry. These results will be posted for each batch along with the usual alkaloid reports, and microbial and heavy metal panels.
